  1. FIVE NON-FIGURATIVE POEMS

  6. I
  7. Light talks to the dark folds
  8. of a cloak in the angle,
  9. The angle bends the note of despondency;
  10. beyond the angle there is a fade.
  11.  
  12. II
  13. Considering a low horizontal zone
  14. of humming, and a vertical Bang,
  15. one finds the background. The image continues.
  16.  
  17. III
  18. Some of these blue
  19. and som of these green
  20. have nothing between;
  21. but others are blue
  22. and others are green
  23. with black in between.
  24.  
  25. IV
  26. lt would do to spread
  27. the darkness over here,
  28. where the light is trying to get in
  29. through a crack in the twilight.
  30. The light should be confined to this corner,
  31. where it will cause no disturbance.

  33. V
  34. There will be a row of ten
  35. of the noises nothing makes
  36. in the middle of the night,
  37. and below that, a dark line.
